"Rules for the orkut age" was the program I've watched the other day.Though the discussion was about social networking sites in general, orkut took the spotlight (what with the recent deaths of 2 teenagers in India dubbed as "orkut deaths" and it being named the MTV Youth icon, 2007 which obviously makes it the in-thing, hence the need to "discuss" it). The suggestions that came apalled me. They ranged from automatic log-off after half-an-hour, regulations with new rules to banning them!!!! Honestly, I don't see any reason why people are crying hoarse about these sites.
Of course, we(the net using fraternity and particulary those using these sites) the perils of the web with its anonymity as its prime feature. Caution and being away from strangers is the bottom line.Instead of all this headless brouhaha of banning these sites nd blaming them for deaths, the only solution would be to be cautious while on the internet- do not reveal any personal information(sacrificing privacy means surrenderring the protection that comes with it) and to use the features like blocking starngers from visiting your profile and sending messeges.
Accidents do happen on the roads, do we stop using vehicles? Do we shut down the 'information' highway and go back to the "good oooooooooooooold days"???

yeah, he did!!!
yep, this is abt harry potter(my review's a bit late, blame it on my exams nd tour :d).Harry is Voldy's ultimate adversary, while voldy embodies everything harry is against.In their relentless battle, both men knew there could be only one victor- & the other vanquished. Well, no prizes for guessing the victor--blame it on the immense love for the boy who lived--he lived deprived of parental love nd someone "understanding"; lived despite betrayals at every step.Understandable. So wat if rony speaks parseltounge towards the end( aw, comeonnow, how many times din't ya do something which astonished u, seeing dat u wern't aware abt ur hidden talent???); nd dear-old-dumby defeats the elder wand( afterall, ur will can make u or break u, nothing's impossible, how many times haven't u told dat to urself???if u think u can win, u will...well, the same here!!!); the death eaters r inefficient( the villan's sidekicks r always so, dat's a tacit law, movies being a point in this case) . The last installment was cooool...it had all the elements nd who wants their superhero dead? if u'll wanted harry to die nd leave voldy alone to ruin the peace, well...change the ndings of L.O.T.R. nd scores of movies, nd rowling will change the ending as well.
Rowling!!! Well, kudos to you, u've transcended all genres. I'd like to call her genre "FACTION"--meaning that fact nd fiction are so mixed that the dividing line is hard to discern.What does this mean to H.P? She deftly mixed magic with all the normal happenings in student life--eccentric profs, student rivalry, friendship, sports, adoloscent pangs nd above all the call of a challenge--even wen the supernatural was popping all over.Perhaps she writes with a wand.
P.S: wat was harry's job?auror?ministry of magic?wat?

The boy who lived, is he going to die?

Yeah, Iam talking about Harry Potter. Y shud I??? 'Coz i'am a dogged fan living in the "Potterised" world for the past 10 years!!! nd now comes the final instalment(puff-pant!!much awaited one baap!!)-- mind u, the book might be the final one, but the effect(to ask dat!!!)? created to loiter in the mind for eternity(nobody hardly can contend with the fact that Rowling and Potter deserve a space in the literary canon)-it has set its place in stone.
The question i've put up as the title to this post is what's keeping me intrigued, among many other things. The suspense is too much to take and more than u/i can ask for--the prophecy(that was a short classic) stating "neither can live while the other survives"(can i interpret it this way--neithr harry nor neville can survive while the other--voldemort survives?) ; where does Snape's loyalty lie? ; and Lily's past (din't the prophecy also tell voldy will mark someone whose parents betrayed him thrice?); even when the horcruxes remain to be found and last but not the least R.A.B---all this lends the book the epic proportions.
The quality of the rivalry has been enhanced by the quality of rivals(while voldy is possibly at his peak, harry is on the ascent). Voldy remains the master apparently, but harry's challenges are getting sterner, but then, we know harry's got more backbone then voldy can imagine him to posses.Voldy's got harry on a leash, but boy!!! it wouldn't be comforting to voldy to have harry pulling ahed of the leash and that's saying something.
Watever transpires in the end, harry will be my all time favourite character. I enjoyed every moment with him ;) indeed iam his alter ego!!! :)
wotcher harry!!!the countdown begins!!! So long harry!!!

the walk

MORNING
She started her walk through the forest(not knowing it would seem like one out there,or is it?); she walked soft and bright as a sponge to be filled with whatever it held forth.Nothing weighed too much within her soul.But that was when the walk began. "She had the wolves snapping at her heels."
* * *
NOONIt was then that she had spotted the clearence.
People have a misplaced sense of "acceptance" - acceptance by others.Thus they act , but the source of every action being the "pull"--approval by others. They do not judge, but repeat(what others think) . And they do not admit it to themselves--a further affirmition of the fact that they are running away from their ego.They feel safe with "others"--at the price of their own self-respect.
She was "different".She finds it easier to stand on her own record. She is not affected by the approval of others. She doesn't seek herself in others. This independent a personality is a reproach to them. She holds her own convictions,not what others dictate on her. She doesn't betray her ego for the stamp of approval. There she goes,being branded insolent!!! They want her tocome down to them, seek acceptance.They'll accept anything, save her standing alone!!!
* * *
NIGHT
And hence the snapping!!! But even so:"She does not place others above self. Its all about being self-sufficient".PERIOD.
There's no stopping the free spirit. GO GIRL!!! The night willbe peaceful(She's an eternal optimist!).

No cliches for me

U've got to be nice, but u can't be a pushover.You've got to be smart,but u can't be brainy. You've got to be beautiful,but not too much so,please.HUH????well, no cliche's for me,thank u very much.Nd then there seems to be this didactic view to life..." ur not doing this the "right" way".....
We live for our own sake, for a cause that we define.Why should our existence be defined by something so foreign?For then, existence becomes intertwined with the existence of our own natural self which is reduced to mere follower of the so-called "value system".What then is individulaity meant to be?To judge something u did by any allegiance to a fixed value system would constitute the very definition of bias itself.
Why is anyone and everyone right, so long as its not yourself?Everyone holds certain beleifs...why should it become sacred by the mere fact of not being your own?
